Hi Everyone!!
There are so many variations of "Lace Knitting Pattern". The one that is not too complicated (I think), is Vintage Lace Pattern.
1. Number of stitches: multiples of 7 + 1 extra
example: (4x7)+1= 29, (5x7)+1=36
2. The Formula :
- Row 1: k (the number you casted on, example: k29)
- Row 2: k2tog, k2, *yfwd, k2, sl1, k2tog, psso, k2 rep*, at end yfwd, k2, k2tog
- Row 3: p3, *yo, p6 rep* at end yo, p4
3. After finishing row 3, start over from row 2.
How to read the code:
k = knit (k2 means, you have to knit 2 times)
p = purl (p3 means, you have to purl 3 times)
k2tog = knit 2 stitches together
yfwd = yarn forward
yo = yarn over
sl = slip stitches without working
pss0 = pass slip stitch over knitted stitch
rep = reply
That's all! I've made 1 scarf and 1 table cloth with this pattern, they look lovely.. :)
These are the pictures:
Scarf
(no. of stitches: 29, length: 2 meter, no. of yarns: 2, size of needle: 5.5)

The color look slightly different because of the lighting effect.

lace pattern table cloth - if you using thick yarns, it's bulky when you touch it |
For beginners, better using medium thickness-large thickness yarn. Thicker yarn is easier to be knitted. And it also very fast! I only need about 3 days to finish this table cloth. Usually I need 1-2 weeks to finish one scarf with normal yarn thickness (yarn with needle size 4-5).
lace pattern table cloth - it is done and used! (I'm watching Korean Drama when this picture is taken ^^) |
I also put the link of the youtube tutorial for this pattern, check it below:
